Buyer Protection Policy

Understanding Your Protection

WaveHub is a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting private sellers with buyers. While we strive to provide a safe platform, it's important to understand the nature of private sales and your responsibilities as a buyer.

Private Seller Transactions

All transactions on WaveHub are between private individuals. This means:

  • All sales are final - Returns and refunds are at the seller's discretion
  • No standard warranty - Items are sold "as is" unless otherwise stated
  • Buyer responsibility - You must inspect items before purchase when possible

What We Do Protect Against

1. Fraudulent Listings

If a seller lists items they don't actually possess or have no intention of delivering, we will:

  • Investigate the complaint thoroughly
  • Ban fraudulent sellers permanently
  • Work with authorities when criminal activity is suspected

2. Misrepresentation

If sellers significantly misrepresent items in their listings:

  • Mediate disputes between buyers and sellers
  • Remove listings that violate our policies
  • Apply sanctions to sellers with repeated violations

3. Seller Verification

We maintain platform integrity through:

  • Account verification processes
  • Review and rating systems
  • Reporting mechanisms for suspicious activity

What We Don't Cover

1. Change of Mind

If you simply change your mind after purchase or decide you don't want the item anymore, this is not covered. All sales are final unless the seller agrees to a return.

2. Item Condition Disputes

Minor wear and tear, subjective assessments of condition (e.g., "good" vs "excellent"), or issues that could have been identified during inspection are not covered. Always inspect items thoroughly before purchase.

3. Price Disputes

If you later find the same item cheaper elsewhere or feel you overpaid, this is not grounds for a refund. Prices are set by individual sellers.

4. Compatibility Issues

It's your responsibility to ensure items are compatible with your needs. We don't cover returns due to equipment incompatibility unless the seller specifically guaranteed compatibility.

5. Loss or Damage During Pickup/Shipping

Once you take possession of an item, any damage or loss is your responsibility. For shipped items, we recommend buyers and sellers agree on insured shipping methods.

Your Responsibilities as a Buyer

  1. Inspect Before Purchase: Always inspect items in person when possible. Request additional photos or information if buying remotely.
  2. Ask Questions: Contact sellers to clarify any uncertainties about the item's condition, history, or specifications before committing to purchase.
  3. Check Seller Ratings: Review the seller's profile, ratings, and past transaction history to make informed decisions.
  4. Document Everything: Take photos during pickup/delivery and keep all communication records in case disputes arise.
  5. Meet Safely: For in-person transactions, meet in public places during daylight hours. Bring a friend if possible.
  6. Use Secure Payment Methods: We recommend payment methods that offer some buyer protection. Avoid cash when possible for high-value items.

Dispute Resolution Process

1

Contact the Seller

First, try to resolve the issue directly with the seller. Many disputes can be resolved through communication.

2

Report the Issue

If you can't resolve the issue with the seller, report it to WaveHub. Provide all relevant documentation, photos, and communication records.

3

WaveHub Review

Our team will review the case, contact both parties, and determine if any policy violations occurred. Response time: 3-5 business days.

4

Resolution

We will mediate between parties and recommend solutions. In cases of fraud or serious policy violations, we may take action including account suspension and coordination with authorities.
